I'm trying to find out where they were based on the Somme as my relative was wounded on this day.

Anybody help?

Thanks.

Hi Les. According to Ray Westlake's "Tracing British Battalions on the Somme" it traces the movements of 2nd Batt Lancashie Fusiliers between 30/61916 to 6/11/1916. In particular, to Auchonvillers 17/7, Vauchelles 21/7. It does not say if they were in action during this period. Dave

18th, 19th, 20th July... in camp, but sent a working party of 2 officers and 120 men to dig a new line in front of the present british front-line (vicinity of Beaumont Hamel). 1 OR killed, 1 OR wounded, 1 OR missing.
