I thought this link would be of interest to forum readers.

They were taken by a Brigadier Walter Cass and have been rediscovered after 70 years, by a member of his family, stuffed in a suitcase .

I really link photo 11 showing a Chaplain standing next to a stock of what I take to be sniper plates with a periscope SMLE rifle. Photo 9, although in poor condition, is probably the most thought provoking showing the landings at ANZAC Cove.

Mike,

You are quite correct. Photo number 9 has been published before and we even know what unit is in it and who took it.

See here: http://cas.awm.gov.au/item/P00035.001

Cheers,

Tim L.

With the caption to the copy here, the AWM has managed to identify the time, some of the units represented and a few of the individuals; see http://cas.awm.gov.au/photograph/C01149

Michael
