Illustrated London News

I have been loaned 4 or 5 copies of the Illustrated London News. ( good condition, couple loose pages)

How rare are these, and are worth much?

They come up frequently enough on eBay, but of course, if you need a specific issue, that one (whichever it is you seek) will be impossibly rare and you'll pay through the nose for it. :)

Bound half-yearly volumes are frequently found for sale, but the postage, especially to the US, is high. Dick Flory

I love reading through old copies of this. The Illustrated London News had some very good artists throughout the years and sometimes sellers on ebay will sell copies of the images, to be sent via e-mail to the buyer or others the actual page the image is on. The old adverts are worth a look at too

Indeed Caryl. Very interesting. I have one from 1910, that has some photographs of the Kaiser in London. Can post some of the photos, if anyone is interested.

Cheers Mike
