Kate Wills Posted 4 April , 2011 Share Posted 4 April , 2011 Idea. Next year, why don't we ask for a volunteer to announce pals' arrivals at the GWF Ball Conference. "Ahem, Ladies and Gentlemen, announcing the arrival of Mr & Mrs CGM..."

CGM Posted 4 April , 2011 Share Posted 4 April , 2011 Hmmm....... actually that's a brilliant idea! As we pause while our names are announced the paparazzi can jostle each other to get the best picture.
Rockdoc Posted 4 April , 2011 Share Posted 4 April , 2011 So long as we don 't end up like "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" with announcements along the way of And here are Mr and Mrs Iseworter and their military son, Major Iseworter... Keith

Guest Posted 5 April , 2011 Share Posted 5 April , 2011 Great day, thanks to all speakers, and organisers. Well worth the long trip. Train nearer £200. Diesel £1.40 a litre. Bus, £70 there and back, a no brainer. Went outside to make a phone call, then was having a chat with squirrel, when this cheeky chappy appeared. Gunboat Posted 5 April , 2011 Share Posted 5 April , 2011 What Mike didn't tell you is that he gave up the chance to see Showaddywaddy to come to the conference! Such sacrifice deserves to be more widely known.

Such sacrifice deserves to be more widely known. Thanks Gunboat. I hope I never have to make a decision like that again. If Showaddywaddydiddydumdiddydoo are playing on the same date as the conference next year, then I'm afraid you will to go ahead without me. Sad, but there you go. Nice to put a face to a name (now I know who to avoid on the ferries ) Kim did try really hard to persuade me to come to the conference. angelab Posted 5 April , 2011 Share Posted 5 April , 2011 Really enjoyed the day, and the excellent talks. Big thanks to the organisers! It was great to meet so many people whom I felt I "knew" already. Is there no pic OF Kim (as opposed to pix BY Kim)? I didn't bump into her. I am embarrassed to say that I am in No16, talking to Sue and trying to eat a somosa at the same time. Not a pretty sight... Angela
