4th Yorks Reg

Does anyone have the War Diary of the 4th Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment?

I've lost my grandfather after his promotion to 2/Lt on 30/01/1918. Thomas Herbert McIntosh had been with the 12th Battalion until being sent back to 16 Officer cadet Bn at Kinmel Park, Rhyl. The next thing I can discovered after his promotion is him arriving at F Depot - whatever that is! - on 21/06/1918. The next entry says " Posted to 4th Yorks Reg for record purposes, Authority of Adjutant General's posting list 442 - maybe someone has access to this posting list?

Thanks

Stuart

You may get some useful details from his Officer service record at Kew. It is likely to be in WO374/44362 as that is the only file for a T McINTOSH in either series WO339 or WO374.

Thanks for the pointer. I have visited Kew and seen his record, which is where I got that entry from but there was very little else to take me in the next direction. I'm not having much joy _ I can't even find the Gazette entry for his commission. It was on 30/01/1918 and I have searched every page of every Gazette up to the end of March but simply can't find it, even though it was supposed to be in the onefor 21/02/1918. Not to worry, I'll get there
