Hi i new to the site hope i have posted in the right place. Have been doing my Family tree and would like to find out more about my g grandad and his brothers i have posted a picture of a medal card of my g grandad Joseph Wilfred Aldworth Lance Corporal 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment WW1 Also a newpaper Article

The Bournemouth Graphic December 6 1918

A Worthy War Record.

For a family of nine brothers to serve with the colours during the greatwar, and all to escape death is the happy case of a well-known Bournemouth family. Aldworth's, the old-established firm of picture-framers etc of 164Wimborne-road and late of the Town Hall Avenue, Bournemouth, has now eightbrothers serving, and one sister, who joined the Womens' Police Force. Theninth brother Mr P Aldworth, who carries on the business of picture-framingand cleaning at Winton during the absence of his brothers on militaryduties, has been discharged from the Army as unfit. Neither of the brothershas been seriously wounded, although the majority of them have seen service in France from the early part of the war. The whole of the nine brothers joined up voluntarily in the cause of their country before compulsory service came in operation

Do you know Where B.E.F (Theatre of war first serve in B.E.F) France????

steve

You'll be soooo embarrassed about asking that BEFORE you read the Long Long Trail!!!

Never mind, we all had to start, but tch, tch!!!

Just keep asking, it gets easier to understand the more involved you get, and it's addictive! thumbsup.png
