I would guess the last few men have been reassigned from 5th Bn to 2nd Bn after being wounded Rich.

No solid evidence of his role one way or another Rich I am afraid. Driver is certainly not a rank in the infantry however, as we have formerly discussed, at times men were referred to as Drivers on the regimental transport (whose role was driving the horses/mules etc.). Could also have been a Drummer though...previous musical experience was not always required!

Hello

Sorry for the large gap between posts but I have not had much luck, except I have been passed a photo copy of a photo of Herbert Bishop.

Got it from an Aunt after she had gone through my grandparent things and hopefully will get a real copy at some point.

Just thought you would all like to put a face to the name.
