shutt Posted 6 February , 2011 Share Posted 6 February , 2011 My grandfather was sent back to England after being mustard gassed at Bullecourt in September 1918. I believe he was sent to a hospital at Halifax, where he spent about seven weeks recovering. Does anyone know which hospital this would have been ?. Any help much appreciated. Chris Noble Posted 6 February , 2011 Share Posted 6 February , 2011 Maybe Calderdale (Royal) Hospital? Situated off the Huddersfield Road. All the best. Chris.

Sue Light Posted 8 February , 2011 Share Posted 8 February , 2011 There were a number of hospitals in Halifax: Halifax War Hospital - 700 beds in the Poor Law Infirmary Halifax Military Hospital - 20 beds, and I assume it was a local military hospital pre-war 100 beds set aside for military use in Halifax General Infirmary Spring Hall Auxiliary Hospital - 142 beds Glenwood Auxiliary Hospital, Southowram - 7 beds Sue
