rflory Posted 21 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 21 November , 2005 Derek: Unfortunately the book does not give any history of that RFC. It just states: "The above regiment in now stationed in Edinburgh." Dick Flory
Derek Robertson Posted 21 November , 2005 Share Posted 21 November , 2005 Dick, Thank you. I asked because both names you featured for the Royal Scots Greys RFC Patterson, Sjt William, R Scots Greys Wilson, Pte R, R Scots Greys also feature on the Hawick Roll of Honour. Both men were Pre-war Regulars. Any chance of their scans if you can get a chance?
Tony Lund Posted 21 November , 2005 Share Posted 21 November , 2005 This is nothing to do with pictures. I am just asking on the off chance that you may know something about the war service of Harold Wagstaff, England captain in 1914. He played for Fartown so I suppose that would be Rugby League. Any war related information would be useful. Tony.

Tony Lund Posted 22 November , 2005 Share Posted 22 November , 2005 All I know is that Holmfirth born Harold Wagstaff was a 15 years old player from Underbank Rangers when he signed for Fartown in 1906 and he went on to captain England in their tour of Australia in 1914. I would expect some war service but I have found no mention of any so far. Tony.
Derek Robertson Posted 22 November , 2005 Share Posted 22 November , 2005 Dick, Thank you very much indeed for the 2 pics of my Hawick men. I visited the grave of Robert Wilson earlier this year:
Moriaty Posted 24 June , 2007 Share Posted 24 June , 2007 I know that it is a long time since anyone last made a posting on this thread, but I wondered if it would be possible to see the photograph of Captain Basil Herbert Edwards Beadon of the Huddersfield Old Boys. A picture was posted ages ago, but has now "disappeared" from the site. When I was in Gallipoli earlier this year, I left a poppy cross at the Helles Memorial for Captain Beadon of the RWF Thanks Moriaty

Bradford WW1 Group Posted 4 December , 2018 Share Posted 4 December , 2018 Dear Dick Flory I'm researching White, Cpt FH, MC, KOYLI. I'd very much appreciate an image from the RFU collection and - if you can provide it - the citation for his Military Cross. Many thanks Tricia www.ww1bradford.org
rflory Posted 6 December , 2018 Author Share Posted 6 December , 2018 (edited) Tricia: Image of FH White, MC, KOYLI. The MC was awarded to Capt. Francis Herbert White, KOYLI in the London Gazette of 3 June 1918. As this is a Birthday Issue there is no citation. The MC was posted to his next of kin on 19 Aug 1918.
