Dido Posted 22 January , 2011 Share Posted 22 January , 2011 From what I know the only survivor of the WWI "Flowers" is the PRESIDENT in the Thames. However the remains of another sloop can be dived at the Greek island of Kephalonia. HMS PEONY which later was converted into a passenger ferry , sunk in 1943 off Argostoli after hitting a mine. Her wreck will be featured in a book that will include other historic wrecks that can be dived in Greece. Can anyone supply any information on her whereabouts during WW1. Was she involved in a specific action? Thank you in advance!

These are monthly logs. Logs are mainly navigation entries, but do sometimes record other infomation. Sadsac
sotonmate Posted 23 January , 2011 Share Posted 23 January , 2011 Dido HMS PEONY has a monthly Log for the most of WW1,from Oct 1915 to Feb 1919. There are 41 files in the National Archives at Kew in the sequence ADM53/54948 to 54988.Very dry reading ordinarily. Have you Googled HMS PEONY Photographs ? There are a few, some suggested as of the 1940 build (it says, but looking like the earlier Flowers) but the link to the site Battleships and Cruisers (and they go down in size from these massives) may have what you seek. ARABIS Posted 23 January , 2011 Share Posted 23 January , 2011 PEONY has the Battle Honour "Dardanelles 1915-16". Here is a photo of her 16.1.20 a few months after she had been sold. She has been stripped of her guns, searchlights, etc., but has not been drastically altered. David.
