KevinBattle Posted 20 January , 2011 Share Posted 20 January , 2011 Driver 28554 Daniel Reynolds entered France 16th August 1914, qualifying for 1914 Clasp and Roses, plus Squeak and Wilfred. Discharged, so obviously survived... Had to be a regular, pre 1914 Service which could fit with his age (38 when War started) and looks as if he was serving with 36 (battery?) RFA... but...... is it him????? shaner13 Posted 20 January , 2011 Author Share Posted 20 January , 2011 Hi Kevin The marriage and death are correct. In 1901 he worked as a carrier and had previously been a farm worker. I think the information you have found could well be him. He remained either in pertenhall or one of the surrounding villages all his life(the exception being the war period). I might have a look on 1911 census and see if hes possibly in the army,if based at home. And no service/pension record exists? thanks shane
