I´ve got this badge from cheshire regiment .Is it a cap badge or for the collar? On the backside are two rings. I dont know more about it.Dimensions were not specified. I´ve bought it before 10 minutes on german ebay.

Best regards Sven

It is the pre1922 pattern Cap badge of the Cheshire regt. The lugs (copper rings on back) suggests that is is pre-1914 and possibly a decade earlier than that.

Some 'old soldiers' of the BEF would still have been wearing this pattern of badge in 1914.
