Remembered Today:

6th Bn Somerset Light Infantry - 4th Sept 1916 – Delville Wood

Recommended Posts

Pte Llewellyn Lee was killed in action on 4th September 1916.

A member of 6th Bn S. L. I., the unit was involved in the fighting around Deville Wood as part of 43Bgd, 14Div.

Has anyone a copy of the war diary for 4th September? Or have any what the units activities were for this date?

Bit of a puzzle:

The history by Wyrall shows the 6/SLI as being in Selincourt, 20 miles west of Amiens, from 31st August to the 12th September, enjoying a complete rest. The Battalion had come out of Delville Wood at 4.15am on 20th August
