Raster Scanning Posted 21 June , 2004 Share Posted 21 June , 2004 This is a blow up of a group of 'D' Coy, 7th Beds Rgt men, taken in January 1915. I am interested in the type of headgear being worn by the man in the middle. Any ideas? Thanks in anticipation. John.

It appears to be a side cap or forage cap,as worn in the Boer War Period,The RFC, & During WW2,it would have had fold down sides[flaps] for Ear protection And buttoned @ the Front,A badge being worn n the side/front;An unusual item of attire, though not unseen, for infantry of 1914~
Raster Scanning Posted 22 June , 2004 Author Share Posted 22 June , 2004 Thanks Harry. I thought the same, but found it an odd bit of kit for Jan 1915. Cheers.
