icustosi Posted 12 December , 2010 Share Posted 12 December , 2010 Is there any way of finding out where this unit was i August 1917? Thanks Val
Rockdoc Posted 13 December , 2010 Share Posted 13 December , 2010 It was in 5th Army on that date and contained 6, 54, 57, 44, 110 and 205 AA Sections. It seems to have remained in 5th Army until the end of the War. The presence of 205 suggests that this Battery was covering dumps, camps or airfields. 205 had 3-in 20-cwt AA Guns, which made the lorries very unstable, making them unsuitable for a mobile role. 205 left and 127 joined in November 1917, which may suggest their role changed or that 205's guns were needed elsewhere.
