Myrtle Posted 5 December , 2010 Share Posted 5 December , 2010 While researching the names on a War Memorial I have come across a 1/6th DCLI man who was captured at the Battle of the Aisne sometime between 27th and the 31st May 1918. He was then taken to the POW camp at Heilsburg in Eastern Prussia, now Poland. Does anyone know why men were taken to this region so much further east than many of the other POW camps?
