dfaulder Posted 2 December , 2010 Share Posted 2 December , 2010 Royal Television Society Lecture 2010 Professor Brian Cox uses this year's Huw Wheldon Memorial Lecture to address the main challenges in bringing science to television. He tackles the risks in simplifying science for a television audience, the perils of abandoning fact in the name of balance and the importance of making science on television intellectually and emotionally engaging. Although this lecture is by a scientist talking about how science is depicted on television; I found myself thinking "could this be an historian talking about history on television?", and therefore is it relevant to our discussion of coverage of WW1 documentaries? (Which is why I have put it here rather than in Skindles - mods please move if you disagree) Available on iPlayer until 8 December 2010.
