ulsterlad2 Posted 30 November , 2010 Share Posted 30 November , 2010 Hello All. Could anyone tell me the reference for Luxtom Trench on (I'm hoping) the Ovillers Sheet? I'm looking at the actions / movements of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Brigade during October 1916. On 13th October the Brigade Diary records the 14th Bn CEF moving from Brickfields to the old front line; Dot, Walker & Luxtom I can see Dot X.5.b and Walker X.5.c on the Ovillers Sheet but can't see the name Luxtom anywhere or even find it on the NA Atlas index. davidmichaeljarvis Posted 2 December , 2010 Share Posted 2 December , 2010 I have looked on the National Archive British trench map atlas for Luxton trench but none is listed. There is a Luxton Trench mentioned in the Trench index of Barry Cuttell's 148 days on the Somme. He gives the reference as "E. of Pozieres 7E 629/2560" From what I can gather these references are for IGN maps. The other two map references given are as follows Dot Trench "Just NW of Pozieres Windmill 7E 628/2561" Walker Trench "1600m S of Courcelette 7W 629/2561 Hope this helps. Dave. ulsterlad2 Posted 2 December , 2010 Author Share Posted 2 December , 2010 Hi Dave. Thanks a million. I'll check the NA Atlas and try to match those references to the trenches.
