The obituary of Colonel Sir Freddy Pile MC appeared in the Daily Telegraph today. He was the son of General Sir Frederick Albert Pile who was GOC Anti-Aircraft Command in WW2. A pre-WW1 soldier, Frederick Alfred Pile was a Lt in the RHA when war broke out. Does any one know which unit he was with in the RHA at this point?

Commissioned as a Gunner in 1904. Spent most of WW1 in staff appointments. Spent time in the 20s in the Royal Tank Corps, and to AA just pre-war.
