grantowi Posted 25 November , 2010 Share Posted 25 November , 2010 Hi Chaps, What sort of time period does it take from putting the names forward to hearing if they have been accepted? I put forward two names back in Feb and still havn't heard anything, would it be worth re doing them via the IFTC list ? Cheers Grant
Terry Denham Posted 25 November , 2010 Share Posted 25 November , 2010 Grant There is no answer to your question as the time taken depends on so many factors - the type of case (in-service or post-discharge), the quality of the evidence supplied, how you presented the case etc. I have had cases accepted in a week yet I have others still in process after five years. Another factor affecting the process is the workload at the various MoD departments and CWGC as they all operate on limited staff with many other duties. If you know the grave site of the casualty, this can slow down the process as it has to be physically inspected before the name can be confirmed. It would be a waste of time to re-submit them. As a guide, most of the IFCP cases added today were submitted in the middle of 2009. I would not worry about your cases until about eighteen months have passed.
