Peter and Ellen Posted 24 November , 2010 Share Posted 24 November , 2010 One of my Tour Guests said that they were Light Horse that were involved. She asked me to take her to the front door of the Bapaume Town Hall(Mairie). There, she told me that her Grandfather was in the Light Horse and some of his cobbers volunteered to help the Deputy Mayor shift some crates around down in the cellar. Shortly after, a massive "whump" was heard and they ran down to confirm their suspicion. All were dead from a German booby trap. She said she had read about it in her grandfathers diary. Sorry, don't remember the name. Regards, Peter
