huwrevans Posted 20 November , 2010 Share Posted 20 November , 2010 Hi, Just come accross photos of these two soldiers in a box from a relative. Both are printed as postcards, not entirely sure if both are WW1. No idea of the regiments so any help would be great. Also got a field post card which may be from one of the soldiers. huwrevans Posted 21 November , 2010 Author Share Posted 21 November , 2010 Thanks guys, both photos were in the same box, I assume they all came from the family of the recipient of the postcard. Any ideas on the name - possibly E Owen? Is the trench coat being worn over civilian clothes? And is the walking stick of any significance? jay dubaya Posted 21 November , 2010 Share Posted 21 November , 2010 Huw, the Shropshire lad is wearing 'Hospital Blues' with a red tie, these uniforms were worn by convalescing solders in the UK, the walking stick perhaps indicates a leg wound Jon

setithefirst Posted 22 November , 2010 Share Posted 22 November , 2010 I'll go with John. Hiya, Being a beginner at this I am prepared to be shot down but isn't the Regimental Name Bar along the bottom of the badge straighter as worn in the photo? Doyle/Foster.
