dycer Posted 17 November , 2010 Posted 17 November , 2010 Kiley, Welcome to the Forum. If you re-title your post to include your Grandfather's Name,Royal Scots and if possible Battalion one of our experts may be able to assist your research. George

WilliamRev Posted 17 November , 2010 Posted 17 November , 2010 Hi Kiley welcome to the forum - you will find a friendly community of people here who are only too willing to help you out. I have been amazed at the efforts that fellow forum-members have gone to with my researches into my grandfather in the Great War.since I joined a year ago. If you post your grandfather's full name and any details you know (middle names and place they lived are particularly useful) I'm sure that people can help. My own field is the Royal Scots Fusiliers (mostly Ayreshire and Glasgow) rather than Royal Scots (Edinburgh, Fife). I'm sure you know this already, but take care that you notice that they are two different regiments - almost daily I find people confusing the two. (And just to make things complicated, lots of men served in both at different times!) Good luck with you researches! William
