P. J. Clarke Posted 13 November , 2010 Posted 13 November , 2010 Hi my learned ones: I've a friend who has two medals with Thomas W. Taylor, Army Service Corps, No. R4/068914. He is on the medal Index cards, but try as I might to find him on the Pension Records and Service Papers, plus CWGC I can no trace of him. Any ideas where to look now? Thanks for past favours. P. J. Clarke.
archangel9 Posted 13 November , 2010 Posted 13 November , 2010 Hi PJ, Did a search too and can't find anything for this man on Ancestry except the MIC. You need an ASC expert to advise you on this one. Unrelated but you might be interested in a recent update to a topic you started in 2007 - http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76196&st=0&p=696592&fromsearch=1entry696592 John

I went to Athis Mons and visited Stephen's beautifully kept grave (check underlined).. A family friend also visited and we were overwhelmed by the reception we got from the civic officials. I will post his headstone on here one of the days, as I'm doing a lot of research for different projects. One of the my greatest experiences was when a group of us from Mayo visited Ypres and I had the honour of reading "The Exhortation". We brought a wreath of fresh flowers all the way from Mayo and it was laid beside the other wreaths in the memorial. Maybe we'll get lucky and find Thomas W. Anyway, thanks for looking and have a good day tomorrow. P. J. Clarke.
