Ithklur Posted 26 October , 2010 Share Posted 26 October , 2010 Found this catalogue: Postal Medal Auction http://auctions.city...n-no-60-v-4.pdf which covers 1870 up to 2nd WW interesting mainly as it includes personal accounts of soldiers who served in GEA and GSWA Example: 22. Three – Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) VF 15.000 – 18.000 (Geo. V) 688 Pte. C. Carlse Cape Corps; BWM; AVM (Bil.) A/Sgt. C. Carlse 1st C.C. DCM LG 3 October 1918. "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When seriously wounded he remained with and kept in action his machine gun until relieved, and when his comrades wanted to carry him out of action he refused their assistance, telling them to remain with the gun." Wounded at Makonde Plateau 17 November 1917. Whilst at El Arish information was received of the award of the DCM for services rendered in East Africa to C.S.M. Brown, D.J.
