paul guthrie Posted 10 March , 2003 Share Posted 10 March , 2003 If any of you are in Ieper this day there will be a special service at 8AM prior to our battlefield visits that day. We think it's the first time a large group of Americans has attended. There will be over forty of us and about eight UK. All of you are welcome. Guest lesley Posted 10 March , 2003 Share Posted 10 March , 2003 Brian and I will try and be there, although it will depend on how late the forum dinner finishes! We visited St. george's church last year. It was a lovely peaceful place to spend an hour looking at the memorial plaques and kneelers
paul guthrie Posted 10 March , 2003 Author Share Posted 10 March , 2003 Great, glad to see you there. Yes, I have been there and the service will not be the time for our people to look at the plaques, chairs and other memorials. So, on day one when we walk them around the town this will be one of our visits. I have not been to Ypres Town Cemetery myself and will make that sometime this trip, have been to Ypres Reservoir several times. Interesting graves there are NZ Maoris.
