Helen82 Posted 5 June , 2004 Share Posted 5 June , 2004 Hi, I'm trying to help a friend find out about her father George Higgs, who served in the 1/5th Essex Regiment during WW1. Does the Essex Regiment have a museum/database of soldiers that can be accessed? I have obtained a copy of his MIC but no other records appear to be at the PRO (looks like they didn't survive.) Also can anyone tell me why there are two Regimental numbers 4311 and 251379 on his MIC? Many thanks, Anita.

crispy Posted 5 June , 2004 Share Posted 5 June , 2004 Anita. The address of the Essex Regimental Museum is:- Oaklands Park,Moulsham Street.Chelmsford, Essex. CM2 9AQ. Telephone 01245 260614. I do not know what records they have if any but it might be worth giving the Curator a ring. David.
