stiletto_33853 Posted 4 June , 2004 Share Posted 4 June , 2004 Hi All, At present I am researching one of my local men and was wondering if one of our knowledgeable aviation pals could give me any more information oh this gentleman. Probationary Flight Officer Parry lived at Westcliff On Sea and was killed in a flying accident on 16th June 1917 aged 26. At the time of his death he was being taught how to land by Flight Lieut. Coleman but misunderstood the instructions, causing the machine to nose dive into the ground near an Essex Aerodrome. Parrys skull was fractured and Coleman injured. Any other information would be great. Thanks Andy
Dolphin Posted 4 June , 2004 Share Posted 4 June , 2004 'Airmen Died' has some different information, with Probationary Flight Officer William George Parry and Probationary Flight Officer Kenneth Stuart, from Chingford Naval Air Station, both being killed while flying Curtiss JN-4 8862 on 12 June 1916. An illustration of an RNAS JN-4 is below. I hope this helps.
