marc leroux Posted 3 June , 2004 Share Posted 3 June , 2004 I was in my favourite second hand book store the other day and I came across "The Harper Encyclopedia of Military Biography" by Trevor N. Dupuy, Curt Johnson, and David L. Bongard. It is billed as "An invaluable compilation and assessment of the 3,000 most important worldwide military figures from earliest times to the present" I thought I'd take a look at what they had written about Arthur Currie. To my suprize he wasn't there at all! Needless to say, I did not purchase the book marc
jhill Posted 3 June , 2004 Share Posted 3 June , 2004 Not to worry! This has been going on for a century. We hold our own pretty well! Even in 1914-1918 there was much carping in Canadian circles about alleged "paternalism" on the part of the Imperials (In some British circles there was carping about Canadians and others claiming too much credit for things!). We are merely perpetuating a more or less honourable tradition. At least this is how I see it. :-) .
Broznitsky Posted 3 June , 2004 Share Posted 3 June , 2004 Marc, just for fun, can you find any Canadians in the book?
