Were they Temporary in as much for the duration of the War? Assuming 'attd' means 'attached', what were they attached from, or, what were they attached to? Ken Lees Posted 3 June , 2004 Share Posted 3 June , 2004 I'm not sure whether officers were commissioned into a specific battalion of a regiment, or just into a regiment, but they 'belonged' to a specific battalion. For a variety of reasons many officers were attached (i.e. served with) another battalion within the same regiment or even with a different regiment.
