Glenn Warnes Posted 2 June , 2004 Share Posted 2 June , 2004 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I am currently at a bit of a dead end regarding my grand fathers army service in the Royal Artillery. I have no records of where he served or in which batteries/brigades. Surviving at the PRO have been obtained His details are: Sergeant (Daniel) Frank Warnes (dob 18/03/1885) service number 39825. He enlisted on 01/11/1905 and discharged on 14/12/1918. He was discharged from 2nd Depot, which I believe was in Preston What I am hoping is that perhaps some unit photos still exist of the RFA in the 1914-1918 periods, which may show him, perhaps in a unit journal or history etc. If anyone could assist it would be very much appreciated. It will give some much sought after information. Any info is good info (As I am in Australia it is very difficult to obtain information locally and to far away from the source) Cheers Glenn (spider of oz)
