Over the past year I have bought a few Royal Scots Fusiliers buttons with the King's Crown, but was sometimes unable to distinguish between WW1 and WW2. The above website, in the link posted by Bill, lists which companies were manufacturing buttons when, and which markings they were using - it has proved incredibly useful.

It also come in handy when trying to determine if an officer's shoulder rank tunic is WW1 or WW2. Cheers, Bill

Hi I collect buttons to Irish regiments going as far back as 1779 , particularly interested in the Irish militia ones would be great to know of anyone else who shares The same interest
