Does anyone have any information about this lady? The memorial is in St. Thomas's Church, Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin, and I would like to know if it counts as a war memorial. She doesn't appear on the C.W.G.C. list.

You could try sending off for her death certificate. The details (from FamilySearch site) are as follows:

Estimated birth year 1889

Local newspapers might give more info about the circumstances of her death.

Almost certainly would be a church War Memorial but like so many other VADs were classified as civilians and did not meet the criteria required by CWGC for commemoration unless their death could be attributed to a war cause.

Unfortunately assisting in the nursing of a never-ending line of wounded service personnel was not classified as a war cause for these unfortunate ladies.

The memorial is in Dublin and relates to a Dublin woman. Ok, part of the UK at the time but do you know if the UKNIWM extends to cover another country?

No, it doesn't apply to the Republic of Ireland but it does cover Northern Ireland, naturally.

The Inventory of Irish War Memorials records war memorials on the island of Ireland, and this will be added to it in the near future (as soon as I get the time!).

Would you have any knowledge of where she is buried?

Tony

Sorry, no idea. Most likely Mount Jerome or Deans Grange cemeteries. There are no graves at the church itself (apart from modern cremation plots). I sent Jim Strawbridge some local references, and he may have followed them up. The Irish Times was the most likely newspaper for a death notice, and I sent him the link. If you would like to follow it up yourself, the archives are at Irish Times archives

Not traced as yet. But I believe that there is a graveyard at Killua which would be where I would look first. St. Lucy's Church used to be there but I think has fallen into ruin.
