Mark2o Posted 31 May , 2004 Share Posted 31 May , 2004 Greetings to all, I am writing this evening in the chance that one of the members may have information about this chap and the Balloon Corp itself. What little I know about those who commanded balloons is that they were sitting ducks during their aerial observations. I already have requested his Officer Records from the PRO and have found two entries in the Gazzette. I have Capt. Wann's Victory medal only and I am interested in knowing what other medals he was entitled to besides the possible Star and WM. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated. Paul Johnson Posted 31 May , 2004 Share Posted 31 May , 2004 Hi Mark, I take it you have looked at his Medal Index Card at the National Archives (PRO)? This should indicate what other medals he was entitled to. You will have to wait and see what his Service Record reveals but my experience with these have shown that the detail can vary considerably.
