yardley Posted 8 June , 2010 Share Posted 8 June , 2010 My grandfather had two younger brothers who were of an age to have served in The Great War 1914-1918. Working on a hunch, it is possible, that like their elder brother, they served in the King's (Liverpool) Regiment. If it is not too much to ask, would Forum Members please check their databases for the following individuals: Wilfred John HALL. Son of Arthur John HALL and Emma WOODBRIDGE. Born Tranmere, Cheshire in 1894. 1911 Census - Living with parents at 21 Cowley Road, Walton, Liverpool. Age 17. Occupation: Shipping Agents Clerk. Born: Birkenhead. To date all searches military, civilian (marriages/deaths) and emigration have failed to find this person after the 1911 Census. Ernest HALL. Son of Arthur John HALL and Emma WOODBRIDGE. Born Tranmere, Cheshire in 1895. 1911 Census - Living with parents at 21 Cowley Road, Walton, Liverpool. Age 15. Occupation: Compass Maker. Born: Birkenhead. Ernest married Eliza REDHEAD in 1916. He died in 1940. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Colin
daggers Posted 8 June , 2010 Share Posted 8 June , 2010 The Medal Index cards at the National Archives show 3 x Wilfred Hall for the King's (Liverpool Regiment) but none with John as a second name, but this is not unusual. There is also a Wilfred S Hall in the Lancashire Hussars. There are also 5 x Ernest Hall. More is needed by searching Ancestry [which I do not have] for any matches among surviving records.
