Joseph Johnston Lee

In the new book 'Fighter Writer' the life of Joe Lee is reported to be between 1876 and 1949.

In an older book 'Lads, love poetry of the trenches' he is stated as living between 1879 and 1954.

Does anyone know the definitive answer for this one?

Thanks

Ryan

Black Watch Museum Perth have a section with info on him as does the main library in Dundee ( Victoria Road) . The other source is Thomson Publishing in Dundee ( Dundee Courier, People's Friend and the Beano & Dandy) as he was a journalist who joined 4th (Dundee) Battalion Black Watch. Another journalist who joined same was William Linton Andrews whose book ' Haunting Years ' gives some idea of the service of this battalion.
