Mark Finneran Posted 6 June , 2010 Share Posted 6 June , 2010 Attached images of a 1916 dated Mk I sled and later vintage MG08 skeletonised (original). Still looking for MG08 and 08/15 accessories but curious to know if anyone has seen a German skeletonised lock. Vickers Dp locks relatively common but did the Imperial Army do the same? Chris Boonzaier Posted 6 June , 2010 Share Posted 6 June , 2010 Nope... no need for 'em. As some folks on the forum will doubtlessly tell you, Germans are so clever, their soldiers so super... they can see all the details even when the lock is complete and buried under 10 layers of sandbags. ;-) Best Chris
Mark Finneran Posted 6 June , 2010 Author Share Posted 6 June , 2010 Superb German soldiers Chris - of that there is no doubt. Altough wasn't there a very very large wooden MG08 lock made for instructional purposes???? (Shown in Dolf's book). Probably seen from just under 4 sandbags!! By the way I am still looking for WWI German 08 & 08/15 ammo belts as per the examples on your great web site. Best regards, Mark Nope... no need for 'em.
