Lieutenant Richard Henry Sansome, South Staffords

I know there are plenty of experts on the South Staffords in this Forum.

Can someone please tell me more about Lieutenant Richard Henry Sansome?

He was commissioned into the 5th Battalion, The South Staffordshire Regiment, with effect from 16 June, 1915.

According to his Medal Index Card he was awarded the British War and Victory Medals ... and the Silver War Badge.

He seems to have lost his Badge in April 1917 - so he was already disabled by then.

I would be grateful for more information.

Hi Archer

I do not know about his WW1 service but check these out

This appears to be an end of war list of MID's

You need to add some WW2 medals with the WW1

Thanks, Peter!

Much appreciated. Great stuff, what what !!

I had these references, but didn't want to go into his WW2 service in case the administrators gave me a spanking!

... But I still need those Staffords to come forward with details of his WW1 service.

Cheers, chum ;)
