Those of you who are planning to visit the Somme on 1 July might be interested to know that the annual ceremony of Remembrance at the McCrae's Battalion cairn in Contalmaison will be taking place at around 9.15 a.m. in the company of the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, a Colour Party from the Royal Regiment of Scotland, representatives of Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian and Falkirk football clubs, and our many French friends. Craig Herbertson will be performing Hearts of Glory.

Everyone is welcome. If you wish to lay a wreath, please feel free to do so. For those headed to Thiepval afterwards, the ceremony should last about half an hour.

Our coach will be on the Somme for a couple of days, so if you see us, come up and say hello!
