Is there a way i could find out for what he was awarded the MM for , up to now on researching this chap i have the copy gazette / m.i.c / day date etc but unable to find anymore this i presume is due to been destroyed during ww2 ?

also he is one of the missing names on the staylebridge memorial .

It's very unusual to find citations for MM awards in WW1

You might try the local paper archives or maybe even the regimental diaries. Good luck with your search.
