christine liava'a Posted 31 May , 2010 Share Posted 31 May , 2010 Can anyone give me more information about an incident on May 8, 1915, east of Ypres, when Maj- Gen. Watson was dug out of a ruined trench, in the Battle of Frezenberg, by Roy Parnell, a soldier from Fiji? Roy was awarded a DCM for his part in the incident. The citation only says he rescued:"an Officer and another man", but the Fiji Times Roll of Honour in 1923 says "Lt Col HWM Watson". The war diary does not mention the incident, nor is it mentioned in Watson's obituary in the KRRC Chronicles in 1938. Christine
