Remembered Today:

US Memorial Day Observance

Monday May 31st is Memorial Day in the US and there is an observation at "The Call" sculpture in the Prince's St Gardens in Edinburgh. The sculpture was paid for by Scottish-Americans to honor those Scots who served in the Great War.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to attend the ceremony as guests 2 years ago and found it very moving. There are military bands with pipers and the laying of wreaths by members of each branch of the US armed forces and representitives of the Scottish units of the British Army.

I encourage anyone in the area to attend if possible although I am not sure of the time.

Take care,

Neil
