Chris Ludlam Posted 20 May , 2010 Share Posted 20 May , 2010 Researching the service of my relative Alfred Mills. Alfred served with the 10th Bn. KOYLI (Service no 37734) and was killed on 19th December 1916. The Regimental Museum advised me the war diary records the death of a soldier on 19th Dec 1916 but does not record the name. They also advised at the time the battalion were in trenches somewhere near Hohenzollen (I assume somewhere near the redoubt), not far from Bethune. He is buried in Vermelles. I am visiting the area in September and it would be good to know precisely where the regiment was located on this date. Any other info would be gratefully received.
