UNIFORM IDENTIFICATION PLEASE

Regarding the belt - as the buckle points to the left in one and right in the other one of them, by definition, must have it on upside down or was uniform alignement of belt buckles not required?

Jerry - never noticed the configuration of the buckle, but here it is again on another NF Territorial.

And another. In my initial statement I probably should have said "during this period of time, I've only ever seen it worn by Teritorials".

So my money is on him being an Essex Territorial going off his collar badges(shield and sea axes), metal titles, pattern of jacket, 1903 pattern brown leather belt and when blown up a 'T' appears to be visible.
