Audax Posted 12 May , 2010 Share Posted 12 May , 2010 I'm interested to find out what was the location of the 13th Cheshires around 5th August 1917 and what were they doing. If anyone could help with the War diary for around that this date; that we would be a bonus. A
truthergw Posted 12 May , 2010 Share Posted 12 May , 2010 No War diary but OH says fighting paused on 3rd August to allow ground to dry. I have no entry in index for 13th Cheshires, only 1/6th and 9th.

Guest Posted 10 November , 2018 Share Posted 10 November , 2018 Hi, I know this was posted years ago but only just found this site. If it helps, my Grandad Thomas Pemberton , 50001, 13 th Cheshires was a Lewis Gunner and won the Military Medal on 10th August 1917 on Westhoek Ridge, north east of Ypres . I have tried to find the site but lack military expertise and a dual carriageway now runs through the area.
