Manchester reg 21st Bn

hi could anyone help me , i would appreciate any info on the battalion`s wherabouts / actions on this date i have tried the libary in manchester also in congleton cheshire , as this chap i`m trying to do a little bit of research on came from congleton and served with the manchester reg and was K.I.A 01/07/16.

Here's an extract from Westlake's 'Battalions on the Somme'

21st (Service) Battalion (6th City). 91st Brigade, 7th Division:

Moved forward from Bois des Tailles midnight (30/6) for attack on Mametz. From reserve 'A' Company followed advance into German front line - 'B' and- 'C' moved forward 9.40 a.m. to assist 1st South Staffordshire on outskirts of Mametz Later occupied western end of Danzig Alley. 'D' Company in action in afternoon at Queen's Nullah. Moved forward and occupied Bottom Wood (2/7).
