Guest hilda Posted 22 May , 2004 Share Posted 22 May , 2004 Hi all. I am a new member and posting for the first time. Can anyone explain a detail from my Great Uncle 30266 Edwin Denman's army docs? It states he was in Gen. Hosp. Rouen from 21.3.17 to 26.3.17 with a ??ICJ of Leg L (?left) He was then admitted again to ?? bun? (barely readable) on 20.5.17 and finally transferred to the Red Cross Finsbury City of London so obviously went home to blighty. What was his injury? Was he wounded in battle? What are the chances of finding out about the action he received his injury in? he eventually was transferred to Class Z and finished with a disordered action of the heart and a pension. Could he have been gassed to cause this? His discharge docs give his number then as 138299 20 Coy RAMC. Date of discarge 16.2.19 so he missed out on his silver war medal as well. Thank you Hilda
Chris_Baker Posted 23 May , 2004 Share Posted 23 May , 2004 Hello Hilda, welcome to the forum In order to be able to make a deduction about the events in which he was (probably) wounded, you need to know which battalion of the South Staffords he was with. Do you know that? Also, is there any chance of you showing us the ??ICJ of Leg L and ???bun references by posting a scanned image of the document on the forum?
