HODNET HALL

Hello All.

Having being pointed in the direction of this forum by a friend, I am overjoyed to find such a wealth of knowledge from people who are willing to share it.

Thanks everyone!

I have lived in Hodnet (near Market Drayton, Shropshire) for 40 odd years and know very little of the wartime activity at Hodnet Hall.

I know it was used as a military hospital, and very little else.

Does anyone have any details of the hospital, or anywhere in my local area of interest.

Best Regards

WES.

Hi Wes,

Can't help you with Hodnet Hall. I did not even know it was a hospital. Anyhow welcome to the forum. My family came from Market Drayton, Childs Ercall and Stoke on Tern.

Wes,

Also, welcome to the forum.

There is a fair bit about the gardens around Hodnet Hall, but as for the hospital very little.

There may be something here.

Cheers Andy.

Hello Andy,

Thanks for the info/link.

I have had a quick look and Hodnet Hall is listed as a Western Command Auxillary Hospital, as is Peplow Hall, which is just a couple of miles from me, also.

I will try to read up asap.

Best Regards

Wes.

It is indeed a small world. A lovely part of the world is North Shropshire.

I am trying to PM you.

Any chance you can make room in your in-box?

Wes.
