swab Posted 12 March , 2010 Share Posted 12 March , 2010 Here is photo of Herbert Williamson taken during WW1 somewhere in Italy. I do not know which regiment or unit he served in; has anyone got an idea, please?

swab Posted 13 March , 2010 Author Share Posted 13 March , 2010 I think you might be correct, kibe, but I'm puzzled by the wearing of the lanyard (I thought it was only the Artillery that sported these on their left shoulders). Can anyone enlighten me on this?
Bryn Posted 25 April , 2010 Share Posted 25 April , 2010 I'm the first to admit I don't know much about the Italian front, except that it's highly under-rated. However I recently read a book, 'With British Guns in italy', by Hugh Dalton; the story, obviously, of British Artillery on the Italian front. It's available free as a downloadable ebook from various sources, including: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/10107
