Hoplophile Posted 17 May , 2004 Share Posted 17 May , 2004 One of the most unsung British artillery pieces of the Great War was the 15-pounder QF Ehrhardt gun. Bought from Germany during the Boer War as an answer to the 75mm QF guns that the Boer Republics had bought from Cruesot, these 75mm weapons were among the most modern field pieces available at the time. In 1914, they were used to arm the RHA batteries of the Territorial Force. In 1915, they went with some of these batteries to the Near East - Egypt and Aden, in particular. Does anyone have a photo (or two or three) of one of these guns?
